A. Major Responsibilities:

Encourage, mentor and equip others as disciples of Christ while demonstrating a vibrant personal relationship with Him.

Pastor Youth Mission and Ministry (YMM) community.
-Promote a structure to build community and relationships among parents, volunteers and students within YMM and with the greater UPC community
-Communicate the Gospel and biblical principles in a creative and culturally relevant manner to youth
-Continually evaluate a comprehensive youth program aligned with departmental and church vision
-Lead, mentor, and provide pastoral support

***Collaborate with Elders and staff to develop and implement strategic initiatives, plan a $300k annual budget and oversee the department

***Coordinate meaningful mission activity to engage youth in deepening and sharing their faith beyond UPC

***Evaluate and expand small group ministry

***Break through barriers and embrace diversity in ministry and community

Develop volunteer leadership
-Strategically recruit and encourage volunteers who are called to establish accountable, committed relationships with students and families
-Focus volunteers in the areas of their spiritual gifts

Collaborate across UPC departments to develop and support others in church-wide initiatives (e.g., work with University Ministries to recruit and equip volunteers)

Provide pastoral leadership for UPC congregation
-Assist in worship
-Participate in regular leadership meetings (staff, Session…)
